Kathak Dance - Summer Camp
What Your Child Will Learn?
Kathak classes at the summer camp immerse students in one of India’s most expressive classical dance forms. Children are trained in the basics of tatkaar (footwork), chakkars (spins), hastak (hand movements), and abhinaya (facial expressions). They learn tukras, simple compositions, and rhythm counting using bols. With live or recorded tabla accompaniment, students gain a practical understanding of laya (tempo) and taal (beat cycle). The sessions conclude with a short group choreography performance. These classes not only teach dance but instill discipline, grace, and cultural appreciation.
