Summer Camp

Summer Camp 7 weeks / May-Jun / Yearly

Dhwani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya organizes a six or seven weeks long summer camp for children across the age group of 3-18 years every year during the summer break in the months of May and June. It gives the children a pleasurable exposure to and training in dance, singing, instrumental music and fine-arts. Conducted by subject matter experts, the intensive training goes a long way in developing life skills and grooming their personality.

For four hours a day, the children attend sessions, along with the others in the same age group. The programme is thoughtfully designed to make the camp fun and is thus full of innovative enjoyable activities.

Our summer camp begins towards the first Monday of the second or the third week of May & ends on the Friday of the second last week of June.

Every Monday – Friday,

Timing Slot : 10AM-2 PM, including half an hour lunch break

It is conducted in the offline mode. However, it was conducted online during the covid pandemic in the years 2020 & 2021. All the protocols/guidelines towards COVID prevention were followed at the institute during the Summer Camp which was held offline in the year 2022.

The children need to pick four subjects out of these: Vocal, Guitar, Keyboard, Tabla, Drums, Violin, Fine-Arts(Drawing, Art & Craft), Western Dance, Kathak.

Keyboard

At Dhwani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Summer Camp, the Keyboard classes are structured to introduce children to the exciting world of music through hands-on practice. Kids learn the fundamentals of hand placement, keyboard geography, and basic music theory. They explore major and minor scales, simple melodies, chords, and basic rhythm patterns. By the end of the camp, students are able to play beginner-level songs using both hands, understand basic sheet music, and develop improved finger coordination and listening skills. The sessions include learning popular songs and developing performance readiness. By the end of the camp, children gain hands-on experience with rhythm and harmony, and are confident to perform solo or in a group setting. Both acoustic and electric guitar options are supported.

Each session is structured around themes such as nature, festivals, or famous art styles. Kids learn color theory, perspective drawing, and shading techniques while also creating DIY crafts. The focus is on process-based learning, where children enjoy expressing themselves freely while developing fine motor skills, patience, and an aesthetic sense. Their artworks are displayed in a mini exhibition at the end of the camp.

A Glimpse into Our Summer Camp Journey

The foundation of our Summer Camp legacy began with an intimate gathering of enthusiastic learners. Every year saw growth in the number of participants and the variety of activities offered.

With the inclusion of Western Dance and expanded Fine Arts programs, our camp reached new heights in participation and creativity.

Despite the global pandemic, we seamlessly transitioned to online platforms. Our virtual summer camps ensured children stayed connected with the arts from the safety of their homes.

With safety protocols in place, we returned offline stronger than ever. The overwhelming response reaffirmed our belief in the power of art and community.

This year witnessed record enrollment, and our themed weeks, like “Rhythm Week” and “Creative Carnival,” brought excitement to every session.

Held from May 13 to June 28, our Summer Camp 2024 was a resounding success, blending innovation with tradition through performance showcases, exhibitions, and interactive workshops.

Our 2025 edition is set to be the most dynamic yet! With refined curriculums, expert mentors, and exciting group activities, children will not only learn but also create lasting friendships and memories.
